Basically, these files were created by people who want to have fun, to crack jokes or to gain shadowy popularity (shadowy because we will never know who created them). I've searched across Altavista and found that few sites exist to offer these on the Net, almost all being based in either Germany (domain letters de) or the Nederlands (domain letters nl). Most of the time it is passed through the mail, although that trend is soon dying off.
That's what I'm here for, to keep the trend alive. I'm going a step further than most Funstuff sites by:

Creating an easy-to-use (ha!), quick look-and-download format.
Adding an alias column for you to find out whether you have the file already (useful, we all go through the pain of downloading a big file, only to find out that it is a same file that you have previously downloaded, only with a different name.
(coming soon) adding mirrors to allow you to download from the site nearest to you.

As I said earlier, use these when bored or to play a prank on someone. Hope you have fun.
